Trip Introduction

Panama offers some of the best all around salt water fishing on the planet and provides visitors with many species of fish year round.

Paradise Lodge stands truly in a league of its own and sprawls out over twenty five acres, located on high grounds with breath-taking 360º views. If seeing is believing, when you arrive at the lodge (which really should be called a resort), you’ll instantly understand why it is called ‘Paradise’.

The Fishing

Fishing is great here year round. The dry season is from December to May, and in May it will start to rain, but mostly in the afternoons. We normally just get a good rain storm and it gets sunny again. September, October and the beginning of November can be a bit more rainy than the other months. In 12 years at the lodge, there has been not been one day loss of fishing due to the weather. Sometimes the offshore fishing can be rough but we can always find good fishing around the islands.

Although many clients bring a few of their own rods and reels and that is fine, they are not needed! There are all the top rods, reels and rigging needed to get the job done. We do understand that many people want to bring their own rods and lures to even do a little bit of experimenting and testing with their equipment. So if you want to put that drag on that new spinning reel to the test – bring it with you and hold on because we aim to put you on the “proving grounds”.

The lodge employs some of the best and most experienced professional captains around who have generations of local fishing experience that will be put to work for you! All of the captains and mates understand that they are fishing and working for you.

We do many types of fishing here, popping, jigging, fishing with live bait, chunk bait, slow troll live bait, troll plastics for Grouper, giant Cubera Snapper, Roosters or Amberjacks …….. The list goes on and on. We have many options with many different species of fish to try for. There are plenty of islands in the area and lots of rock structures to fish and offshore we have the famous Hannibal Bank and Montosa Island to fish for big Marlin , Tuna and Sailfish.

Below is a season chart to serve as a general guideline–timeline for in season species. Every year is different and the weather on any given month/year will always be a factor, but this will help if you are looking for windows of oppotunity for particular species.

The Accommodation

The fishing lodge stands truly in a league of its own and sprawls out over twenty five acres, located on high grounds with breath-taking 360º views. If seeing is believing, when you arrive at the lodge (which really should be called a resort), you’ll instantly understand why it is called ‘Paradise’.

The lodge has eight rooms and will hold 17 people. Many people that have come to fish at the lodge come back with their entire family on vacation for the surroundings alone and forget the fishing! But if you are here for the fishing you will be doing it in grand style and comfort with beautiful clean private air-conditioned cottages, large pool, swim-up bar, huge hot tub, SPACIOUS grounds, the list goes on and on…

They will also collect the luggage and take our clients to their chosen hotel. This service is @ USD $60 per person. We would also be happy to help you make this reservation.
