Give this great destination and hard-working fishing team a try.…. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!

The Fishing
This is the most consistent Sturgeon fishery in the World, with success rate at almost 100% …. It’s very uncommon not to get any bites, or not hook up to Sturgeon, and multiple hook-ups are the norm. An average-sized Sturgeon is in the 3-6ft range, but there are plenty of much larger fish in the river that can exceed 11-12 feet in length and can get to over 1,200lbs!
When Sturgeon fishing, guests will always have a very realistic chance of hooking a trophy fish of a lifetime. Sturgeon are exceptional fighting fish, quite often jumping out of the water after being hooked, especially in the warmer months.
Sturgeon have gained an international reputation as one of the top giant sportfish in North America. This is the freshwater version of Marlin fishing and the Fraser River offers the best!
All Sturgeon fishing is done from jet boats (which makes just travelling to the fishing areas fun also, especially to the Canyon)! Heavy and high quality gear is a must to battle these giants. Reels are spooled up with 150-200lb braid.
Although Sturgeon fishing is available year-round, the best and most consistent time of the season is from Feb-Nov.

CLOTHING & ACCESSORIES
Weather statistics for the area fished can be viewed > here <
Summer months (May- September)
Summer months are generally quite warm, with cooler mornings and evenings. Guests should bring a warm layer of clothes for morning/evening weather, and the rest should be summer clothing. Warm layer for mornings and evenings. Synthetics and fleece are great. Shorts, t-shirts for afternoons. Quick Dry pants and shirts are great! Long sleeve shirts and long pants if one wishes to avoid sun. Sandals, hat, sunglasses, sunscreen. A light waterproof rain jacket and pants in case of rain.
Fall/Autumn, Winter, Spring months (October- April)
These months experience cooler and wetter weather, so warmer clothing is recommended with a few light layers for some warmer days. It is not uncommon to experience almost 20ºC weather in October and November, March and April. Dressing up in multiple layers is most effective. Although our winter month’s temperatures are usually on the mild side (up to 10ºC+), morning can bring frost and sometimes snow. NB. It’s better to dress warmer and shed a layer during the day than not have an extra layer to put on. Good quality waterproof rain gear as it can rain quite a bit in the fall and winter. Several good warm layers made out of synthetics, fleece, wool are best. Avoid cottons. A one-piece long underwear outfit works wonders as first layer. Turtlenecks that cover the neck are really helpful. One lighter layer of clothing in case of nicer weather. Insulated hiking boots, especially when on the boat, with waterproof coating if possible. Sunglasses, warm beanie or other headwear, wool fishing gloves.
