Trip Introduction
Situated on a stunningly beautiful tropical island, Baia Lodge provides an amazing base for full-on fishing on inshore river systems as well as spectacular action on inshore blue water and surrounding reefs.
The Fishing
Anglers will fish with lures or flies in the several riverine systems that are within 15 minutes to an hour boat ride from the Lodge, for the legendary PNG Black Bass and Spot Tail Bass, big Mangrove Jack, Jungle Perch, GT’s and other estuarine species.
Access to these areas is with our purpose built 6 meter sport fishing vessels. We have some of the biggest PNG Black Bass on this planet, some exceeding 50lbs!
The surrounding reefs and inshore blue water are home to a myriad of hard-fighting reef and pelagic species. Blue Water inshore fishing can be done out of the lodge using our Baia sport fishing boats.
The ocean also provides excellent offshore deep blue water fishing for a variety of tropical species. However to target the bigger off shore species, our 35 foot Game Boat is also available at an additional daily charter cost.
The Accommodation
Rooms are large and very comfortable as twin share; however each person may have their own room when possible. All rooms have fans and 240 outlets throughout the building. Flushable toilets, hot water and all the comforts of home make Baia Lodge a fantastic place to escape and experience a unique piece of paradise and spectacular tropical angling.
Travel Plan
Day 1: Anglers arrive in Port Moresby, then fly to Kimbe Airport (not included). Transfer to Liambo Lodge and overnight.
Day 2: Anglers will travel to Baia Lodge today and fish for 1/2 day.
Day 3 – 7: Five full days fishing.
Day 8: Fish for 1/2 day and return to Liambo Lodge in the afternoon/evening and overnight.
Day 9: Fly back from Kimbe to Port Moresby (not included) and onwards journey home.
