Trip Introduction

The Andaman Islands is said to be the best destination for popping and jigging in South East Asia. The best description for this type of fishing would be “Total Hard-core Saltwater Fishing At Its Best”!!

The fishing season in The Andamans, stretches from October until May. Many species can be caught depending on different seasons, but in the Andamans, we can catch GT's and Doggies almost the entire season through!

The Fishing

The Andaman Islands have to be some of the best destinations for popping and jigging in South East Asia, thanks to the incredible quantities and the large sizes of the GT found, with an average weight of more than 45-50lbs, with some over 100lbs!

There are also many other species that our anglers can catch while popping, spinning and jigging, like huge Red Snapper, many different Groupers, Coral Trout, big Spanish Mackerel, Barracuda, Pilot Trevally, Sail Fish, Wahoo, Marlin, Bluefin Tuna, Bigeye Tuna, Dog Tooth Tuna, Yellow Fin tuna and Bonito.

There are many excellent jigging spots and drop-offs, all within 30 minutes to an hour’s journey by boat from the jetty. You can pop and catch GT’s within as little as 10-15 minutes from the jetty!

Excellent local Captains and mates handle the boats and can put you onto fish quickly and efficiently. Our boats are 35ft centre console / Custom Built in 2015 / live bait tank / 1 x 250 HP Yamaha with 15 HP backup engine, VHF, GPS, latest Fish finder etc. On a normal full day of fishing, we leave the harbour at 08:00 hrs and come back at 17:00 hrs. Soft-drinks, snacks and lunch is included.

For long-range fishing trips, we need favourable weather and sea conditions and prior approval from local authorities. Best period for fishing these areas are from Jan until May. The following are extra trips – not in the basic package:

Long-Range (X10) – Extra Trip
On Long-range day trips to X10, we leave at 06:00 hrs and return around 15:00 hrs. Simple breakfast, snacks, soft-drinks and lunch are served on board. Sailing time is around 2 hours off-shore/way. This trip is designed for the experienced anglers, with main interest in jigging and live baiting, looking to catch dogtooth tuna and sharks. If you like also popping, the Invisible banks will be a better choice for you.

Long-Range (Invisible Banks) – Extra Trip
On Long-range day trips to the ‘Invisible Banks’, we leave at 05:00 hrs and return around 16:00 hrs. Simple breakfast, snacks, soft-drinks and lunch are served on board. Sailing time is around 3 hours off-shore/way. This trip is for the experienced, extreme angler, looking for mammoth GT’s Dogtooths, Marlin and other large Pelagics. All fishing techniques can be used here (jigging, popping, trolling, live baiting).

Most anglers prefer to bring their own fishing equipment for popping and jigging. Trolling gear is always included and provided by us on board. If you really do not prefer to travel with rods on a trip, we can also rent out a popping and jigging outfit for you. For more info about rental of fishing equipment, please ask us at the time of booking. If you run out of lures, there’s still the option to buy poppers, stick baits and jigs from us at our shop on the Island

On request we can also rent out some of our high-end gear. The cost is 50 EURO including GST per day per person for rentals includes top end 1 x popping outfit and 1 x jigging outfit.
