EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED
The lodge is located on a private 1400-hectare nature reserve with crucial environmental importance for the region as it marks the transition between the Orinoco and the Amazon ecosystems. Our reserve serves a vital role for conservation in the region. Not only does the lodge protect a portion of pristine rainforest and the animals that inhabit it; it is also a centre for environmental education and support for the surrounding indigenous communities and the only source of conservation-oriented employment in the region. This is the only eco-tourism company with a comprehensive conservation program in the area.
Staff will be waiting to greet you with an ice-cold refreshment and take your luggage to your rooms as you settle into what will be your home for the next week. Our world-class accommodations were designed with both luxury and nature in mind, and include state of the art cabins with fully-equipped AC and individual bathrooms overlooking the dense jungle foliage and the mighty river below.
We are very fortunate to be able to fish a place that is totally virgin and unrivalled anywhere on the planet, so we ensure the fishing pressure is strictly controlled to maintain the fishery in pristine condition. To ensure this place is protected for future generations, the local indigenous communities are also benefited through conservation, and for every angler we take in, a large fee is paid to make sure everyone gets to experience the benefits of conservation first hand.
Asiwere means Big Peacock bass in Sikuani, the local indigenous tongue. Peacock Bass are a small part of what the fishing here has to offer.
Every day you will have the opportunity to fish for either monster Peacock Bass in large numbers, Payara on topwater poppers, cast spinner-baits for huge Black and White Pacu, fish for monster 10 pound Bocons on light tackle or bait fishing for some real Giants, Surubim, Piraiba, Jau, Redtails and other big Cats. How about a few Tambaqui to over 80 pounds?
Finding many of these species in one place is amazing, but to have all these species, in the sizes and abundance that we do have here, makes this place simply a fisherman’s Paradise.
